A certain boy wizard

Dear Blog,

I regret to inform you that there are NO cinemas in Scotland giving a midnight showing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood PrinceNone. The earliest I can see it is 10:00 AM tomorrow and that’s even going to another town. Now, I have done the maths and have realized that every American fortunate enough to go to a midnight showing of HP6 will see the movie before any of us in Scotland get to. Yes. Even those of you on the west coast. (Midnight in California is 8:00 AM here. Seriously.)

So it is my request that if you do see it at midnight, please keep your Scottish brethren in mind if you are going to post about it immediately upon returning home. Please do not write me about it until after 6:00 AM Central Standard Time. I know, I’ve read the book several times, but it’s actually been a while since I’ve been in the Harry Potter universe and I don’t want anything to be spoiled. Thanks!

All best,

The Author

I wish you were here…then I might drag my old lady self to a midnight show…as it is, I’m prepping to have family here for a few days and need the rest!

Aw, that is unfortunate. But now let the Author consider what some of her traveling brethren experience– which is NOTHING of said certain boy wizard’s newest movie. Who can tell when I’ll get to see it, not just hours later than everyone else but weeks and possibly months, not to mention if I waited until a legal viewing of some sort…

Okay, venting is out, and I am reminded that I tend to be disappointed after seeing the movies anyway. The Author may, after viewing the movie, tell me generally what she thinks of it, and I will see it someday.

I wondered if you would get the movie, Megan. 😦 I’m sad that you won’t. It’s kind of understandable where you are; it’s more just pure flabbergasting that Scotland gets it after the U.S., considering that Hogwarts is in Scotland (and I’m pretty sure it’s St Andrews). I haven’t read the book in a while but I’ll let you know what I think. The next time we’re on the same continent and in the same time zone we ought to have a Harry Potter party.
